Adequately sanding the surface is a must
Progressive sanding eliminates anything that might prevent the oil from sticking to the wood. This way the wood will readily accept the product for optimal results.
For floors, we recommend using a sander with sandpaper 80, then 100, then 120, and finally 150 to create a smooth even surface which will allow the oil to penetrate deeply. This will produce a protective coat that will make the wood more resistant to scratches and stains the way a professional finishing does. For furniture we recommend that you sand up to 180.
